Genevieve has extensive experience in providing specialist multi-disciplinary assessment and management for clients who have acquired neurological conditions and complex disabilities. She works with both paediatric and adult clients, their families and care teams and is committed to providing holistic, client centred care.

Experience

  • Providing intervention within a range of settings, including a neuro rehabilitation unit for clients with acquired brain injuries and a community neuro rehabilitation team
  • Working with clients during both the acute and rehabilitation phases of recovery
  • Care planning for clients to facilitate achievement of their goals
  • Delivering and evaluating client-centred rehabilitation programmes which aim to maximise a client’s independence in both the home and the community
  • Providing Specialist Speech and Language Therapy - treating both adults and children, who have acquired neurological conditions.
  • Delivering training programmes for professionals, including support workers or the families of clients who have complex needs.
  • Management of clients in both the public and private sectors
  • Liaising with a range of health and social care professionals and other agencies
  • Assessment for and implementation of, alternative and augmentative communication (AAC) systems.

Genevieve is able to identify barriers to independence and can devise short-term and long-term goals, in order to address a client’s needs. Her professional experience has led to development of skilled management of clients with acquired brain injuries, who may have impairment of their cognition and can display challenging behaviour.
