Janine qualified in July 1992 from Coventry Polytechnic with a Diploma in Occupational Therapy.

Experience

  • Case management with extensive knowledge and experience of working with teenagers and young adults with cerebral palsy who have complex clinical needs.
  • Experience working as a Clinical Specialist Occupational Therapist for the NHS and charities and has worked as an independent Case Manager prior to working for ILS
  • Experienced working within multidisciplinary teams and the training of such teams.

Key Skills

In addition to her clinical work, Janine uses her client centred approach and communication skills to ensure she develops and maintains good working relationships with her clients and their families. She advocates strongly on behalf of her clients aiming to ensure that best interest and choice is paramount. Janine works with clients and their families to assist in maximising the client’s full potential in all aspects of daily life.

In addition to working as a private practitioner with children and young people with cerebral palsy going through a litigation case, Janine held the following part time and locum contracts:

2007-2011 Chailey Heritage Clinical Services and Seaside View Child Development Centre: Clinical Specialist Occupational Therapist providing services to children and teenagers to support the transition from a special educational school environment to full time mainstream education placements. Clinical Lead for the Chailey Heritage outpatient Posture Clinic.

2006-2008 Senior 1 Occupational Therapist at Brighton Wheelchair Service

2004-2006 Senior 1 Occupational Therapist at Ingfield Manor School, Billingshurst, West Sussex.

2001-2003 Locum Senior 1 Occupational Therapist at St Margaret’s School (The Children’s Trust) Tadworth, Surrey.

Senior 1 Occupational Therapist at Brighton General Hospital.

Adult and Children’s Senior Duty Occupational Therapist for East Sussex Social Services.

1998-2001 Senior 1 Occupational Therapist at Chailey Heritage Clinical Services supporting children with complex needs in a special education environment and as the senior therapist in the Posture, SCAMP and ADL clinics.

Between 1996 and 2003, Janine worked in roles that allowed the flexibility to travel extensively between contracts and developed a private practice as a specialist Occupational Therapist. From 2004 Janine focussed on her independent practice and accepted contracts in specialist fields that complimented her private practice and facilitated the flexibility to spend time with her family. Since 2012 Janine has worked solely for ILS as a Case Manager.
