Kerry Green - BHSc (Hons) Occupational Therapy

Kerry joined Independent Living Solutions as a brain injury case manager in 2012.

Kerry qualified in 1998 as an Occupational Therapist. She uses the experience and knowledge developed over 15 years working in the physical and mental health sectors to inform her current practice. Kerry has a wide and varied caseload, providing Case Management for both adult and paediatric clients. In addition to her Case Management role, Kerry is a skilled Occupational Therapist with special interests in housing adaptations & equipment provision.

Experience

  • Case management of adults and children with complex needs including cerebral palsy and acquired brain injury
  • Assessment of functional performance skills and goal planning for clients with neurological, orthopaedic and mental health conditions.

Kerry has excellent communication skills and works in a person centred logical manner. Her ability to consider a situation holistically has enabled her to effectively support clients with complex and enduring needs. Kerry provides effective Case Management to both adult and paediatric clients who have brain injury, her work centres on accurate assessment, thorough goal planning and co-ordination of services to meet assessed needs. Kerry is able to work efficiently on the client’s behalf to arrange and coordinate the services they need to meet their long term needs

May 2012 – Present Case Manager/Occupational Therapist for Independent Living Solutions. Kerry’s key responsibilities include assessment, goal planning and review of needs. Kerry has experience of provision of large care packages using either direct recruitment or agency care including coordinating the provision of external therapists. Kerry’s background has enabled her to develop key skills around accommodation adaptations and equipment provision. Kerry has experience in supporting clients to engage in holidays outside of the UK.

January 2005 – February 2013 Senior Occupational Therapist at the London Borough of Sutton working with both adults and children Kerry’s case load included clients with variety of conditions including cerebral palsy, neurological, orthopaedic, spinal and palliative. Kerry was responsible for major and minor housing adaptations, rehousing, manual handling and specialist equipment.

January 2005 – January 2004 Senior Locum Occupational Therapist at Brighton Social Services. Working with adults and children. Key clinical areas – major and minor adaptations, specialist equipment and manual handling.

May 2003 - November 2003 Senior Occupational Therapist in rural Australia. Working with adults and children. Providing inpatient and outreach community occupational therapy services to children and adults with physical and mental health conditions.

May 2000 - January 2003 Senior Locum Occupational Therapist working across a variety of inpatient hospital settings assessing functional performance skills and goal planning for clients with neurological, orthopaedic and mental health conditions.

September 1998 – May 2000 Basic Grade Occupational.
