Sophie qualified from Southampton University (The School of Health Professionals) in 2003 with a Bachelor of Science in Occupational Therapy.

She has worked predominately in Spinal Rehabilitation since 2005. Sophie has maintained her continuing professional development through completing courses that are related to her practice. These include: British Association of Hand Therapy level 2 splinting course in the hand and forearm, an introduction to Bobath techniques, and Returning to Work following a Spinal Cord Injury.

2014 – Present Case Manager with ILS managing a case load of complex adult clients including managing care teams and dealing with complex family dynamics.

2011 – 2014 Head Occupational Therapist, The Duke of Cornwall Spinal Treatment Centre, Salisbury District Hospital, Salisbury, Wiltshire. Working as an Occupational Therapist with inpatients/Outpatients who have paraplegic and tetraplegic Spinal Cord Injuries, including individuals with long term ventilation needs providing comprehensive rehabilitation. Managing service delivery/change, supervision and development of staff, annual appraisals and recruitment.

2007 – 2011 Band 6 Occupational Therapist, The Duke of Cornwall Spinal Treatment Centre, Salisbury District Hospital, Salisbury, Wiltshire. Working as an Occupational Therapist with inpatients with paraplegic and tetraplegic Spinal Cord Injuries, including individuals with long term ventilation needs providing comprehensive rehabilitation.

2005 – 2007 Band 5 Occupational Therapist, the Duke of Cornwall Spinal Treatment Centre, Salisbury District Hospital, Salisbury, Wiltshire. Working as an Occupational Therapist with inpatients with paraplegic and low level tetraplegic Spinal Cord Injuries providing comprehensive rehabilitation.

2004 – 2005 Rotational Occupational Therapist, Salisbury District Hospital, Salisbury, Wiltshire. Working as an Occupational Therapist in the Acute Medical and Surgical Team facilitating discharges home. In particular, this included working with abdominal surgery, COPD patients and Parkinson's Disease.

2003 – 2004 Rotational Occupational Therapist, Weston General Hospital Working as an Occupational Therapist in a residential home for elderly patients, acute medical wards facilitating discharges and in Stroke rehabilitation.
