Tim Gilbert - DipN RNA

Tim became a brain injury case manager in 2001 has worked as a Brain Injury Case Manager for Independent Living Solutions since 2004.

Tim has a particular interest in, and experience of working with, adults who present a challenge to those around them through the behaviour that they present as a result of their brain injury. He also works with the families of those who have sustained a brain injury.

Tim is a BABICM Advanced Registered Practitioner

  • Liaising with multi-disciplinary team members coordinating the rehabilitation pathway

  • Case managing clients with acquired brain injury and challenging behavior through long term rehabilitation
  • Working with legal teams and deputies to support clients who are Protected Persons under the court of protection

Tim uses his strong communication skills to work with others to develop innovative ways of working in order to support the client’s best interest. Tim values the lifestyle choices that his clients make and works to achieve effective outcomes whilst taking into account client choice.

2004 - Present Brain Injury Case Manager with Independent Living Solutions Ltd (ILS).

2001 – 2004 Brain Injury Case Manager with Head First (Assessment and Case Management Services) Ltd.

2000 – 2001 Unit Manager of Brain Injury Rehabilitation Unit, Ticehurst House Hospital. This role included the management of a large multi-disciplinary team, holding the unit budget and ultimate responsibility for clinical and financial responsibility for the unit.

1996 – 2000 Nurse at West Kent Neuro-rehabilitation Unit. Responsibilities included close multidisciplinary team working with adult clients with varied neurological diagnoses, including Acquired Brain Injury.
