Overview

Christine qualified in 1979 from York School of Occupational Therapy with a Diploma in Occupational Therapy and has continuously updated her skills with further study, recently achieving a post graduate certificate and her Master’s degree.

She has vast clinical and managerial experience and skill in working with children, young adults, adults with complex disabilities including those with acquired brain injury and spinal injuries, their families and care teams.

Christine is also a qualified manual handling assessor and is a member of the ILS Moving and Handling Team.

Christine has worked with Independent Living Solutions Ltd as a Case Manager and Occupational Therapist since 2005.

Employment

2005-2010

Case Manager with ILS. Providing Case Management and Occupational Therapy for children, young adults and adults who have a variety of conditions and complex needs.

1995-2010

Christine was employed in the NHS in Intermediate Care. She assessed complex cases both from an Occupational Therapy perspective and also from an interdisciplinary perspective. This work also involved care planning and case management. Christine managed a team of Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists and Nurses, coordinating client care.

1985 to 1995

Christine had a career break to have a family.

1981 to 1985

Senior Occupational Therapist, working with younger disabled clients from the fields of spinal injury, orthopaedics, acquired brain injury, amputees and neurology. A major part of this work included assessment of need for equipment and adaptation, as well as Occupational Therapy to enable clients and their carers to remain as independent as possible. She was also involved assessing disabled school leavers and integrating them into adult services, further education and independent living.

1979 to 1981

Basic Grade Occupational Therapist in the NHS in mental health.

  • Member BAOT (British Association of Occupational Therapists)
  • Christine has a Post Graduate Certificate in Occupational Therapy and has just been awarded an MSc in Practice Development in which she gained a distinction.
