Overview

Nick qualified in 1992 from St Loyes School of Occupational Therapy with a Diploma in Occupational Therapy.

He has wide experience of working as a therapist both in the United Kingdom and the United States of America in varied settings and specialisms. He developed an early special interest and subsequent expertise in the realms of Neuro-Rehabilitation, Spinal Cord Injury, Hand Injury and Vocational Rehabilitation.

Nick has considerable experience of working with, leading and training multidisciplinary teams both as an Occupational Therapist since 1992 and Case Manager since he first joined Independent Living Solutions Limited (ILS) in 2002. He is a Director of Portsmouth Headway.

2005 - Present

Full time Case Manager and Occupational Therapist with ILS, specialising in work with adult brain injured clients. Nick is a Professional Mentor within ILS and is a Clinical Team Leader within the ILS Acquired Brain Injury and Vocational Rehab Services. 

2001 - 2005

Locum Senior Therapist in Neuro-rehabilitation specialist units across the United Kingdom including Unsted Park Hospital Brain Injury Unit, Jackets Field Rehabilitation Unit, Phoenix Rehabilitation Centre and Aylesbury Community Brain Injury Service (Vocational rehabilitation).

2000 - 2001

Clinical Lead Occupational Therapist for Neurology, East Hants PCT, responsible for Occupational Therapy Service development, staff supervision and training.

1998 - 2000

Lead Therapist in an elderly rehabilitation unit in Portsmouth, treating clients with neurological, general medical and orthopaedic conditions. He then took over Lead Therapy role within the stroke unit, developing Occupational Therapy services for Portsmouth and East Hants.

1995 - 1998

Traveling Rehabilitation Therapist in several hospitals in the USA involved in treatment as well as student training and Occupational Therapy service development. During this period, Nick specialised in Neurology and Hand Therapy.

1992 - 1995

Occupational Therapist in Neurological rehabilitation, primarily with stroke patients in acute hospital wards in Portsmouth.
