Heather has developed a broad range of experience & knowledge through 25 years of social work with adults and children with complex disabilities. Heather has constantly updated her understanding & practice in partnership with her clients, their families, care networks, and fellow professionals. Heather has a wealth of understanding & insight into the challenges of compromised health & disability.  Heather aims to listen to your views and insight to ensure client needs are the central focus.

Working with children and adults with complex disabilities maintaining her holistic, client centered pro-active approach.

In private practice promoting general therapy with specialism in all issues related to anxiety, confidence, weight and eating.

London Borough of Harrow a wide and varied caseload with specialism in disability; children and adults.  Heather is also a Professional Advocate for children and young people.   

1987– 1999

Qualified Social Worker.

Whilst raising young children Heather continued part-time employment in a wide variety of roles & settings, most roles involved supporting people with learning, physical & mental health disability issues.

Professional

Heather qualified in social work in 1986 on the CSS Hertfordshire scheme and has vast experience working with a broad range of client groups.  Heather is a currently registered & validated member under the GSCC (General Social Care Council) and GHR (General Hypnotherapy Register), and NHSTA (National Health Trusts Association), having gained distinction diploma in clinical hypnotherapy. Heather is also a professionally trained advocate and constantly uses her advocacy skills to support her clients. As a social worker of over 20 years Heather is constantly undergoing all aspects of training and continuous development within all areas of current theory, practice and legislation. Heather is committed to highly person centred and solution based work. She aims to listen, and to empower those she supports, towards the greatest choice & personal independence that they wish to achieve.
