Overview

Jane qualified in 1995 from St. Andrews School of Occupational Therapy with a B.Sc. in Occupational Therapy and completed a M.Sc. in Occupational Therapy from Coventry University in 2004. Since qualifying, she has worked extensively with adults with acquired brain injury, both in residential rehabilitation and community outpatient settings and has developed considerable experience of working with this client group. She is particularly interested in cognitive rehabilitation and in return to work following brain injury. Her experience in vocational rehabilitation includes liaising with employers and helping clients return to their previous jobs as well as assisting them to explore new lines of work.

Joined Independent Living Solutions as Case Manager and Occupational Therapist.

2002 – 2009

Senior Occupational Therapist at the Community Head Injury Service in Aylesbury. Providing independent and group-based rehabilitation to clients with acquired brain injury in the community and in their own homes. Also provided Vocational Rehabilitation on their ‘Working Out’ programme.

1998 – 2002

Occupational Therapist with the Brain Injury Rehabilitation Trust, based at their residential rehabilitation unit in Milton Keynes. Gained experience of cognitive behavioural techniques.

1997 – 1998

Rehabilitation Support Worker with the Brain Injury Rehabilitation Trust, Milton Keynes.

Occupational Therapist working with elderly mentally ill patients at Shenley Hospital, Radlett.
