Overview

Caroline qualified in 1979 as a Physiotherapist, from Middlesex Hospital School of Physiotherapy.

Caroline is an experienced Paediatric Community Physiotherapist, having worked with children for the last 14 years. Before this she has worked with adults in a variety of settings. She has built up expertise in working in a multi-disciplinary, multi-agency setting, in schools, hospitals, nurseries and homes. Caroline has experience of treating a wide range of conditions affecting children, especially Cerebral Palsy and Developmental Problems. While essentially a Bobath Therapist, she has an eclectic approach, using techniques that meet the needs of her clients.

Employment

2008 to Present.

Since joining Independent Living Solutions in 2008, Caroline has worked as a case manager with a variety of complex cases, with children and teenagers with Cerebral Palsy and Acquired Brain Injury. She has worked successfully with their families to meet a wide variety of needs. She is an integral part of the Posture and Seating service and continues to provide high quality physiotherapy treatment.

Caroline also works as a professional mentor to other case managers.

1999-2008

Senior Paediatric Community Physiotherapist in South Wales.
In this post, Caroline had a varied clinical caseload, treating children with neurological, orthopaedic, respiratory and mental health conditions in mainstream schools, special schools, homes and children’s centres. She has experience in assessment, goal setting, programme setting, equipment prescription, as well as hands-on treatment in a multi-disciplinary environment. She is used to liaising with health professionals, education staff, social services and clinical engineers for wheelchairs, to provide all-round support for the child, family and carers.

1995-1999

Senior Paediatric Physiotherapist in special schools, working with children with a range of disabilities in the school setting.

1994-1995 Senior Physiotherapist at Rhydlafar Orthopaedic Hospital in Cardiff, treating adults and children following orthopaedic surgery and liaising with out-patient therapists.

1986-1994 Senior Physiotherapist working in out-patients, treating a range of adult conditions, both in private practice and hospital settings in Cheltenham and Lydney.

1980-1986 Basic grade Physiotherapist at Churchill Hospital, Oxford and Musgrove Park hospital, Taunton. Covering a range of specialities, including neurology, surgical, paediatrics, orthopaedics and rehabilitation.
