Overview

Lee Ann qualified in 1999 with a degree in Occupational Therapy at the University of Pretoria. Lee Ann has experience of working in South Africa and in the United Kingdom.  She worked in a variety of settings in South Africa as a self employed independent practitioner and was the director of her own company for a number of years.

Lee Ann came to England in 2004 and has since worked in the private health care sector and social services in the areas of neurology and learning disabilities.

Lee Ann has also undertaken work as a Specialist Practitioner for her local NHS wheelchair service working with both adults and paediatric patients with complex disabilities who require specialist seating requirements and posture management.

She has recently completed a post graduate certificate at Oxford Brookes University in posture management for complex neurological disabilities.

Lee Ann joined Independent Living Solutions (ILS) in 2010 to provide case management and occupational therapy services for children and adults and take the clinical lead role in the ILS Posture and Special Seating Service.

2010-Present

Case Manager / Occupational Therapist with ILS.  Lee Ann also co-ordinates the ILS posture and seating service.

2009-2010

Portsmouth Wheelchair Service, Portsmouth Hospital Trust, Specialist Therapist working in the fields of special seating (custom moulded systems) for both adult and paediatric client groups. Specialist therapist for the paediatric seating clinics at the wheelchair service and the local special needs schools.

2005-2008

Portsmouth City Council, Social Services Occupational Therapy Department, Higher Grade Occupational Therapist, specialising in transition work (children to adult services) and learning disabilities.  Minor and major adaptation works undertaken through the disabled facilities grant (DFG) for private, council and housing association clients.

2004-2005

Unsted Park Neuro-Rehabilitation Centre, Surrey providing rehabilitation services to clients with Acquired Brain Injury (ABI) and neurological impairments.

2000-2004

Self employed Occupational Therapist (South Africa), undertaking work in the fields of adult neurology, medico-legal and paediatrics (gross motor, fine motor and visual perception). Worked at a local special needs school for children with learning disabilities.
