Overview
Eliot qualified in 1999 from the University of Southampton with a Degree in Occupational Therapy, graded Upper Second Class (2:1).
Eliot has a wide range of experience working with adults with acquired brain injuries, adults with learning disabilities, and older people with physical and mental health problems. He has worked in the NHS and Social Services. He has been working as a brain injury case manager and occupational therapist for Independent Living Solutions Ltd (ILS) since May 2006.

Nunton Unit Neurological Outpatients, Salisbury District Hospital (locum post). Occupational therapist working with adults with acquired neurological conditions such as strokes, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson’s Disease, and traumatic brain injury. Assessing functional ability including ability to carry out activities of daily living in home environment; memory (using Rivermead Behavioural Memory Test), and screening for suitability of return to driving (using Stroke Drivers’ Screening Assessment). Assessing for and sourcing assistive equipment. Working closely with neurophysiotherapists, specialist stroke nurse, and Social Services.

March 2001 to December 2003
A variety of locum occupational therapy posts including one year for Portsmouth Social Services. Worked on acute medical wards at North Hampshire hospital (Basingstoke), Queen Alexandra hospital (Portsmouth), and St. Mary’s hospital (Portsmouth) working with adults with a variety of conditions including strokes, cancers, heart conditions, dementias, and pulmonary disorders.
August 1999 to March 2001
Southampton General Hospital, basic grade rotation (changed every 6 months). Included 6 months working with Professor Lindsay McLellan on Victoria House Neurological Rehabilitation Unit, 6 months on acute medical wards, and 6 months working on an elderly rehabilitation ward.
