Overview

Anita is a HPC Registered Occupational Therapist who qualified in 1982 from the London School of Occupational Therapy. Since then Anita has worked in community and clinical settings, with both children and adults with a wide range of disabilities.

Anita has specialised in paediatrics since 2003, primarily with children with neuro-developmental disorders.

Advanced Specialist Paediatric Occupational Therapist:
Anita works for an independent charity. Anita provides Occupational Therapy to children, who have a diagnosis of Neurodevelopmental delay, mostly in the form of cerebral palsy and its associated difficulties.

Anita is trained and experienced in a range of treatment approaches, including Bobath, Sensory Integration and 24 hour postural management.

Additionally Anita assesses for specialist equipment in home and in school, provides manual handling guidance and advises on resources for transition into nursery or school.

Independent Occupational Therapist: Anita  provides professional assessments and reports, to support an educational placement or adaptations to the home as well as short term occupational therapy input to address specific difficulties i.e. handwriting issues.

1987 – 2003

Community Occupational Therapist:
Working initially for the London Borough of Hounslow and later for Surrey County Council, to provide equipment and adaptations for children and adults, in their own homes.  Anita has had extensive training in the field of major adaptations and experience of liaising with architects, manufacturers and funding authorities.

1985 – 1987

Basic Grade Occupational Therapist:
Anita worked for a large Health Authority in a Rotational post covering a variety of clinical settings.
