Overview

Beccy has a diverse physiotherapy background in both the NHS and private practice, including working as a Case Coordinator in British Colombia, Canada, where this is a well-established profession. During this time she managed the rehabilitation of clients injured in road traffic accidents as well as clients with other complex, and usually chronic, injuries. She was involved in gradually integrating clients back into the workplace, often in new and adapted roles. Beccy is one of the few Physiotherapists in the UK trained in the assessment and treatment of dizziness and equilibrium problems resulting from inner ear or brain damage.

2008-2010

Senior Physical Therapist and Case Coordinator
at LifeMark Health Centre, British Colombia, Canada. Involved in complex patient assessment, case co-ordination and vocational rehabilitation. Set up and ran the Dizziness and Balance Rehabilitation Program for patients with inner ear damage, vestibular nerve damage, motion sickness and head injuries. The clinic was also the only centre in British Colombia offering multi-disciplinary rehabilitation for amputees. Beccy was also involved in the recruitment of other health professionals for the centre.

2007-2008

Senior Locum Physiotherapist
with various appointments across the South of England within the NHS, Military and private hospitals and a multi-disciplinary purpose built care centre. Patients included those with orthopedic, musculoskeletal and neurological conditions.

2006–2007 Senior Outpatient Physiotherapist
in the Royal West Sussex NHS Trust. Managed a full clinical caseload consisting of patients with acute sports injuries, post orthopaedic surgery, instability, repetitive strain and workplace injuries, chronic pain and post-natal. Developed and led the Back Rehabilitation Programme.

2004–2006 Rotational Physiotherapist
in the Royal West Sussex NHS Trust. Diverse experience in rheumatology and hydrotherapy, respiratory, musculoskeletal, elderly care, trauma and orthopaedics and neurology. Involved in discharge planning of complex patients with neurological damage from the Young Person’s Rehabilitation Unit, particularly those with brain injury and spinal cord injury.
