Overview

Susannah qualified as an Occupational Therapist in 1982. 

Since qualifying she has worked in the field of learning and physical disabilities, primarily with children. She has also lectured at various institutions including the Jordanian School of Occupational Therapy. She joined Independent Living Solutions Ltd (ILS) in 2003.

2004 to Present

Paediatric Occupational Therapist in Independent Practice working with children and young people (0-24 years) with disabilities and their families. Services include assessments, one to one group sessions, training of other therapists, teachers and parents and working with schools.

2003 to Present

Case Manager/ Paediatric Occupational Therapist with Independent Living Solutions providing for clients aged 0-19 years with long term disabilities.

1985 - July 2002

During this period Susannah worked in various Middle Eastern countries in numerous settings including schools, rehabilitation centres, hospitals and community projects variously as Occupational Therapist, Occupational Therapy Lead, Services Coordinator and Clinical Director. This work involved input into services for children 0 to 18 years with a variety of difficulties including emotional, behavioural, perceptual, sensory, learning and physical.

1984 - 1985

Social Services Occupational Therapist providing assessment of future care and housing needs of learning disabled children and adults at the time living in large institutions; also included carer training and housing adaptation advice.

1982 - 1984

Occupational Therapist at a hospital for people with a learning disability. Work included self-help training, therapeutic activity such as horticulture, drama, art and sheltered work.
