Independent Living Solutions - Qualifications

Qualifications.
Although case management has become widely recognised and the term has become familiar to many people, what is often not realised is that at present there is no qualification for clinical case managers.
Brain injury case managers may become practitioner members of the British Association of Brain Injury Case Managers (BABICM) which requires a recognised qualification, the holding of appropriate insurance and that they meet the requirements set down by BABICM.
Case managers working at Independent Living Solutions all meet these requirements and are expected to apply for practitioner membership. They also have the skills to work with people with all disabilities, not just brain injury.
Advanced membership of BABICM is applied for when members reach an appropriate level of experience.
The service offered by different case managers differs.
What we offer at Independent Living Solutions:
All case managers are state registered occupational therapists, registered nurses or social workers with a wide experience of working with clients with disabilities. We also have physiotherapists working with our physically disabled clients.
We are all able to make a full assessment of people’s global needs including the needs of their families.
We assist people to obtain the maximum control over their lives, taking into consideration the limitations of their condition.
We recruit support workers, carers and nurses on behalf of our clients and provide advice on all recruitment and employment issues.
Our ‘phones are open from 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday. If a client’s own case manager is not available a message will be passed to them to ring back, or if they are on holiday or if urgent attention is required, another case manager will be able to assist.
We arrange rehabilitation whether it be in a specialist unit or in the client’s home.
And we work in a team capable of helping people of all ages – from infancy through to old age.
