Overview

Ian qualified in 1975 after studying in Occupational Therapy in York. He also holds qualifications in counselling and psychology. Ian’s career has given him experience in working with a variety of cases, particularly with people having neurological or developmental conditions. He has worked with individuals of all ages, their families and paid carers, and with different health professionals. Has recently completed an MSc dissertation concerning sensory issues in adults with autism.

Military Hospital, Saudi Arabia. Senior OT working in neurological and general rehabilitation.

1981 - 1983

Leeds Metropolitan Council. Senior OT working with young disabled adults in residential and special care units. Adults had different physical or neurological conditions, including head injury, learning disability, cerebral palsy, spina bifida, etc.

1980 - 1981

All children had developmental delay due to neuro-developmental conditions such as cerebral palsy, Down’s syndrome, hydrocephalus, autism.
