Liz Grice
Based
Romsey, Hampshire
Overview
In her first post following training, Liz was working in Adult Mental Health both in GPs surgeries and psychiatric settings. She undertook the BPS Post Qualification Course in Neuropsychology and during this time began to specialise in Neuropsychology. This led her into working with acquired brain injury and as a result, a long association with Headway through her work with three Headway branches; Headway Dorset, Headway Southampton, and Headway Basingstoke.
Since 1995, Liz has been involved in the supervision of trainee clinical psychologists and counsellors. For a number of years she has been an Honorary Clinical Tutor at the University of Southampton and has lectured regularly on the Clinical Psychology Doctoral Training Course, as well as marking coursework. For several years Liz also ran training days for Hampshire Social Services in Understanding Acquired Brain Injury, and Psychological and Social Implications of Sensory Loss
In her last post with North Hampshire PCT (now Hampshire PCT) Liz was Head of Psychology Service for NHPCT, and heavily involved in service development both in clinical psychology and in the PCT as a whole. In addition she carried a clinical load which focused on neuropsychology cases as well as fulfilling a transitional case manager role for PCT patients who were either already receiving neurorehabilitation services out of area, or being transferred to or from such services.
Currently in addition to her input to the Clinical Course, Liz provides consultancy and supervision to Headway Dorset and Shelley Park Neuro Care; neuropsychology supervision to a group of psychologists within the NHS, and offers neurorehabilitation and psychological therapy to individual clients with acquired brain injury.
