On Saturday 8th July, the Army took on the Royal Navy for the Rundle Cup at Tidworth polo club, and ILS were delighted to be there to witness the action.
The day started at 12pm with a charity match in aid of Inspire Foundation – raising much needed funds for vital research into spinal cord injury. This was followed by an awe inspiring free fall parachute display by the REME parachute team, a pony club polo exhibition match, and the UK Armed Forces vs the USA team for the Indian Cavalry Officers Polo Trophy.
At 4.30pm the greatly anticipated Royal Navy v Army match for the Rundle cup commenced – a hotly contested match which the army managed to narrowly win.
The ILS team and their guests had a lovely day in the sunshine watching the polo, listening to the Royal Marines band of Collingwood, and enjoying the fabulous hospitality of our host, Chris Andrews (Director of Tidworth Polo Club). We would like to thank Chris and his lovely wife Angela for a fantastic day out.
