Finance Manager

Christina joined ILS in October 2009, and manages our Finance department.

As well as managing the day to day financial operation of the business, Christina also oversees the payroll service we offer to our clients. Our service includes the processing of monthly payrolls and providing payroll information and necessary reports to fund holders. We also provide a point of contact for payroll queries and deal with all matters relating to PAYE including end of year returns.

Christina is a fully qualified management accountant and holds CIMA membership.

When she isn’t working, Christina likes to swim, read books and walk her dog.

Ellie joined ILS in November 2007, and heads up our Client HR department.

Unlike most case management companies, ILS has a large, dedicated HR team who manage all recruitment and employment issues on behalf of our clients. Employing and recruiting staff can be very difficult if you’ve never done it before – which is often the case for many of our clients who require support staff.

Ellie’s team are all qualified HR professionals and will work alongside case managers to guide and support new employers and manage support staff and carers on behalf of the client. This includes:

  • Managing advertising and recruiting
  • Obtaining references and DBS checks
  • Checking candidate’s eligibility to work in the UK
  • Ensuring support staff are trained and supervised in compliance with Care Quality Commission requirements
  • Carer’s indemnity insurance

Ellie is an Associate Member of the CIPD, and her areas of expertise are employment law, employee relations, and performance management.

Her specific role within the Client HR department is managing the HR team, HR Client strategy, employment issues and legislation, disciplinary and grievance procedures and recruitment strategy.

When Ellie isn’t in work, she teaches gymnastics twice a week and enjoys spending time with her family and friends and walking her dog.

Director of Client Services

Sarah joined ILS in July 2011 as an Operations Manager and now a Director of ILS.

Sarah is a qualified social worker, and prior to joining ILS worked in a variety of adult social care roles in learning disability and brain injury teams in Wiltshire and Essex. Within these roles Sarah gained a working knowledge of health social care legislation and supported individuals and families within the community using these structures to meet the needs of and safeguard vulnerable people. She is registered with Social Work England, and her area of expertise is working with adults with complex needs.

Sarah is responsible for overseeing ILS client services, including case manager and rehabilitation provision, client HR, care quality and support services functions.

HR Manager – ILS Staff

Chartered MCIPD

Emma joined ILS in September 2014, having previously worked as an independent HR consultant. Previous to this Emma worked as a HR manager for Action on Addiction and has over 10 years’ experience in Human Resources.

Emma is qualified to CIPD level 7 in Human Resources and became a Chartered Member of the CIPD in 2006.

As HR Manager, Emma is responsible for overseeing the HR services for all ILS staff and associates, ensuring the people management strategy meets the needs of the business.

Outside of ILS, Emma provides a taxi service for her children and enjoys dancing both at dance classes and in her kitchen.

Emma Ferguson

Joint Chief Executive

Karenmarie joined ILS in 1998, she is the joint Chief Executive alongside Kate Maclean.

Karenmarie is an Occupational Therapist, she qualified from St. Loye’s School of Occupational therapy in 1983. Prior to joining ILS she gained a wide range of experience in the field, including working with children and adults with all types of disabilities in both the UK and New Zealand, where she lived for 7 years. She has worked in many backgrounds in the industry including health, social care and independent and private employment. Throughout her career she has developed a specific expertise in managing care packages for children and has also attended court several times as a witness of fact.

Between 2008 and 2014, Karenmarie was a member of the BABICM council, and she was a chair of the BABICM children and young persons’ group between 2008 and 2012. To date she is an advanced member of BABICM and CMSUK.

In her Chief Executive role, Karenmarie is responsible for the business development and strategy of ILS. She also works closely with the Finance team.

Outside of work Karenmarie enjoys walking her dog Ridley, another member of the head office team! She travels frequently in her motor caravan and enjoys her gardening, DIY & art, alongside spending time with her family.
