Helen Ovans, Professional Mentor
I joined ILS Case Management in 2015 as a Case Manager and have been a member of the Professional Mentors team since 2017.
I am an Occupational Therapist, qualifying from Lancaster University in 2008 but prior to this, I gained a wide range of commercial and managerial experience in blue chip account management roles.
Once I had qualified as an Occupational Therapist, I worked in various roles within case management, private therapy and private rehabilitation sectors working with children and adults with a range of neurological challenges. Throughout my career I have developed a specific expertise in managing complex clients and care packages and I have further developed those skills to mentor both new and experienced Case Managers, supporting them to continue to progress and develop within their role. I always ensure the Case Managers I support maintain ILS’s high standards for service provision.
I have been an active member of BABICM and CMSUK since 2009, volunteering on various subcommittees. In November 2019 I was voted onto to CMSUK Board of Directors, and I now Chair the Communication Sub-Committee. I am also an advanced member of BABICM.
Outside of work I enjoy various outdoor activities and can often be seen on the rivers on my SUP board with my two black labs (although they never take a turn paddling!).
