I enjoy problem solving complex situations by applying sound clinical reasoning to maximise my client’s potential. As a dedicated and enthusiastic clinician, I strive to meet the holistic needs of everyone I work with. My excellent communication skills allow me to engage with people with communication difficulties as well as liaising effectively with professionals including healthcare and legal professionals. I have spent the majority of my career working with people with complex and varied needs.
2018 to Present Case manager with ILS. Providing case management for adults who have a variety of conditions and complex needs
2015 to Present Somek and Associates - Expert Witness (Care and Occupational Therapy). Including assessment of claimants and writing reports with opinion and recommendations for past, current and future needs. Reports include immediate needs assessments, liability reports and full quantum reports. Liaison with solicitors and barristers including attending case conferences.
2015 to 2017 Specialist Neurological Occupational Therapist. Assessment and therapy input for adults with complex neurological conditions including acquired brain injury, spina bifida and cerebral palsy.
2014 to Present Independent Occupational Therapist and trainer. Home based assessments, rehabilitation, independent mobility assessments and provision of training.
2013 to 2018 Clinical advisor (NHS) supporting caseholding clinicians with the management of complex cases including moving and handling, pressure care, safeguarding, palliative care and management of plus size people. Assessment for and provision of bespoke equipment. Complex risk assessment.
2010 to 2013 Senior Occupational Therapist. Community role including home visits, inpatient rehabilitation and rapid response.
2008 to 2010 Senior Occupational Therapist. Acute setting including accident and emergency and acute medical wards. Team Specialist for rheumatology, oncolocgy and complex cases.
2007 to 2008 Occupational Therapist: Community older persons mental health team working with people with functional and organic mental health diagnoses.
2005 to 2007 Occupational Therapist. Rehabilitation in the private sector for people with acquired brain injuries including physical, cognitive and behavioural rehabilitation.
