I am a committed health professional who always strives to enable my clients to achieve their goals. I have specialised in vocational rehabilitation and am able to advise on aspects such as returning to work, driving and meaningful occupation.

Previous Clinical Experience

2008- present  Band 6 OT – Community neurological Rehabilitation Ream, Sussex Community NHS Foundation Trust.

Managing a varied caseload of adult clients with various neurological conditions including traumatic brain Injury, CVA and progressive neurological conditions.

Work undertaken includes driving assessments, complex posture and seating assessments, vocational rehabilitation, provision of equipment, adaptations and managing care packages.

2006 – 2007 Band 6 – Sussex Rehabilitation Centre.

Inpatient unit for clients with a variety of neurological conditions, involved in discharge planning, home visits, liaising with community services, delivering OT treatment programmes.

2005 – 2006 Band 6 equivalent Acute Neuro, St George’s hospital London and the Wolfson Neurorehabilitation Centre.

2001 – 2004 – Various Band 5 equivalent OT permanent and locum positions including working in orthopaedics, Amputees, General Medicine and neuro rehabilitation.

Areas of Special Knowledge and Interest

Chania has specialist knowledge in working with clients with a range of neurological conditions including Traumatic Brain Injuries, Stroke, Multiple Sclerosis, Parkinson’s disease and MND. Chania has a particular interest in providing cognitive and perceptual rehabilitation and vocational rehabilitation.
