My strength is my strong interpersonal and communication skills which always have enabled me to make and retain positive working relationships with the children and families I work with. I often act as a lead liaison between families and the educational services and provide necessary input for Education and Health Care Plans.

June 2014 – Present: Specialist Paediatric Physiotherapist
Providing Specialist Physiotherapy assessment and intervention on children and young people from 0-19 years most of whom may have complex needs i.e CP, MD, CP, Palliative care, post-surgery esp hip operations and Spinal Dorsal Rhizotomy, SMA, Autism, Learning disability, Downs syndrome and musculoskeletal cases. Experienced in providing reports for health, education staff, children / young people and their parents, to deliver integrated specialized packages of care to children with complex physical difficulties.

Feb 2008-June 2014: Highly Specialist Seating Specialist: Physiotherapist
Specialist clinical practice in assessment, equipment provision and advice to service users with various, and complex mobility and postural needs. I took an active role in setting up pressure management clinics and developed posture assessment forms which are in-depth musculoskeletal and biomechanical assessments.
Jointly developed the Outcome measure goal assessment using varied tools such as GAS tools in Rehabilitation which is successful in gathering data from both verbal and non-verbal clientele.

I worked as private community physiotherapist enabling therapy at home for children and adults with neurological disorders.

Areas of Special Knowledge and Interest

I have a specialist interest in Disability sports and represent it at a national level with the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy.

I am currently working with CP sport and promoting frame football in the community as part of my role as APCP committee member.

I have worked with quite a few amputee children and have extensive knowledge as well as understanding in management of their therapy needs and parental expectations as well as dealing with stressful situations.

I have completed my Post Graduate Degree in Neuro Rehabilitation with special interest in spasticity management.
