Janet qualified in July 1990 from Coventry Polytechnic with a Diploma in Occupational Therapy. She has extensive knowledge and experience of working with clients with neurological and orthopaedic conditions and their families as a Therapist within Social Services, the NHS and Independent Living Solutions.

Janet has been a Case Manager working with Independent Living Solutions since 2007.

Previous Clinical Experience

2007-Present Case Manager and Occupational Therapist working with clients with acquired brain injury, cerebral palsy and associated difficulties. Janet provides Professional Mentorship to other professionals within ILS. Providing clinical support and guidance for colleagues as well as ensuring high standards of care and therapy is provided to our clients.

2004–2007 Senior 1 Occupational Therapist working within an Intermediate Care Team implementing rehabilitation programs and working with the clients and their families, assessing clients housing needs and arranging housing adaptations. Supervision and training of staff was an integral part of the role. The role also involved providing long term support to clients with progressive neurological conditions.

1999–2004 Senior 1 Occupational Therapist working on the acute medical wards and Emergency Assessment Unit assessing clients and arranging discharge with appropriate on-going support. The role involved developing the Occupational Therapy service provision to the wards.

1996–1999 Head IV Occupational Therapist working in a community hospital with a mixed caseload of adult clients. The post was split between clinical input, including assessment, treatment planning and coordinating complex discharges and managerial input including supervision and running of the department.

1992-1996 Senior II / Senior I Occupational Therapist -Treating clients with neurological, medical and surgical conditions. Role involved assessment and treatment of patients and planning of complex discharges.

1990–1992 Basic Grade Occupational Therapist-Treating patients with orthopaedic, medical and surgical conditions.
