Lucy has worked as a Brain Injury Case Manager for Independent Living Solutions since 2010.
Lucy has considerable experience of case management of those with neurological conditions during both acute and rehabilitation phases of their recovery. As a Case Manager Lucy has skills in assessing complex needs and the ability to identify and implement outcome focused recommendations. She is a fully qualified Occupational Therapist.
In addition to her excellent clinical work, Lucy uses excellent interpersonal skills to develop rapport with her clients in order to facilitate a good working relationship and, working in a personal centered manner she advocates effectively for her clients.

2010 – Present Case Manager/Brain Injury Occupational Therapist with ILS working with clients with complex needs as a result of acquired brain injury. Within this role Lucy’s key responsibilities are to provide comprehensive needs assessment, make and carry out recommendations to maximize her client’s rehabilitation potential. Lucy has experience of working with clients to recruit and maintain care teams and rehabilitation programmes.
2009 - Present Band 7 Occupational Therapist, Neurosurgical Wards, North Bristol NHS Trust. Involved in assessing patients for discharge and early management of the acute patient including those on the neuro high dependency unit. This role involves functional and cognitive assessment, seating, splinting, upper limb rehabilitation.
2003-2009 Band 7 Team Leader Occupational Therapist, Acute Neurology Unit, North Bristol NHS Trust. Responsible for providing the occupational therapy service to the unit which is a regional centre. Involved in recruitment, management of qualified and unqualified staff, deputising for head Occupational Therapist.
2001-2003 Senior Rotational Occupational Therapist Neurology/Brain Injury Rehabilitation. Experience of complex discharge planning, liaison with multiple agencies, key worker role. Involved in postural and seating assessment, cognitive and functional assessment and long-term rehabilitation of those with acquired brain injury including those with challenging behavior.
1999 - 2001 Rotational Occupational Therapist in the following specialties: elderly mental health, acute psychiatry, medicine and neurology.
