Back in January, we picked the lucky winner of our New York competition that we ran throughout the conference season for our 25th Anniversary. Congratulations once again to Rebecca Drew of Fieldfisher, who won our 4-night trip!
Rebecca has just returned from spending her 30th birthday in NYC and has shared some of the highlights with us.
“We packed a lot into the 5 days that we were in New York starting with a trip to the Baseball on Wednesday evening to watch the Mets vs the Yankees. I don’t think baseball is the game for me, but it was a fun experience nonetheless!
On 4th July we decided to spend Independence Day and my birthday at Coney Island where on arrival we watched quite possibly one of the most bizarre things I have ever seen, a hot dog eating competition. The winner, I believe called Joey – ate 71 hot dogs in about ten minutes, he fell three below his record of 74 but the crowd still loved him! We also went on the 'Cyclone' roller coaster which was built in 1927 and rattles its way around a wooden track a lot faster than it probably should! We ended our 4th of July and my birthday celebrations watching the world famous Macy's fireworks display at a rooftop bar back in the city.
One of the highlights of my trip was at Tiffany's. I managed to book a table for breakfast and lived every girl’s dream of having breakfast at Tiffany's on Saturday, if you are ever in New York, I highly recommend!
We also visited the Statue of Liberty, I had managed to buy tickets to climb up to the Crown. I am not a fan of heights and the additional 167 stairs to the Crown platform are very narrow and very steep, but it was worth it!
We went to the 9/11 memorial, the Rockefeller, various rooftop bars and did lots of shopping. Sadly, we didn’t manage to make it to the Empire State, but I will certainly be planning a trip back to New York soon!
I really cannot thank you enough, it was a fantastic way to celebrate my birthday and for many reasons a week I will never forget!”
We’re so glad you had a great time and couldn’t be happier that the ILS prize helped you have to have a special birthday to remember, Rebecca!
