Snowdon Push

On the weekend of the 1st of July inspirational ILS case managers Helen Ovans and Emma fieldsend volunteered on behalf of the ILS team to take part in the Back Up Trust’s Snowdon Push event.

snowdon pushHelen and Emma joined the ‘Tim’s Intrepid Trackers Team’ and together, competing against ten over teams, they braved the elements to climb the 8-mile-steep summit of Mount Snowdon, assisting Tim in a specially-adapted wheelchair. The Snowdon Push is one of the Back Up Trust’s annual events, raising money for this incredible organisation that provides support for people with spinal cord injuries and their families. This includes peer support, teaching wheelchair skills, confidence-building workshops and mentoring, amongst other things.

Tim’s team raised over £3,000 for the charity, contributing to the overwhelming £55,000 raised in total from the event. An incredible achievement for everyone involved.

*Later in July Helen went on to undertake Oxfam’s ‘Trailwalker’ event, walking 100km in just 30 hours across the South Downs to raise money for Oxfam and the Gurkha Welfare Trust - we are in awe!
