Advanced Speech and Language Therapist, Independent Practice

  • Providing specialist communication and dysphagia assessments and intervention for teenagers and adults with a range of neurological conditions
  • Currently, I work with adults with a communication impairment as a result of TBI, CVA, Autistic Spectrum Conditions, Learning Disabilities
  • I have worked with adults with dual diagnosis mental health and autistic spectrum conditions for the Priory Group, adults with acquired neurological conditions at Titleworth Neuro, and have been recruited by Case Management companies across the South East to work with adults with an acquired brain injury. I also work with young adults and teenagers with learning disabilities or on the autistic spectrum at local colleges, through contracts with West Sussex County Council and Brighton and Hove City Council.

  • Providing specialist communication and dysphagia assessments, intervention and rehabilitation for adults with a range of neurological conditions, including TBI, CVA, MS and Parkinson Disease.

  • Main point of contact for the ILS SALT service, coordinating referrals, preparing quotes and allocating clients within the field of Acquired Brain Injury
  • Managing a team of speech and language therapists working remotely across England and Wales

  • Undertaking interviews, selection and induction of therapists as required

Specialist Speech and Language Therapist, Rapid Response Dysphagia Service, Adult Community Team, Sussex Community NHS Trust.

  • Providing specialist assessment and management in the community for adults with dysphagia as a result of CVA, Dementia, Acquired Brain Injury and Head and Neck Cancer.
  • I left this role due to an increased private caseload but continued to provide locum cover for the Trust.

  • Administering specialist diagnostic assessments (primarily using the Diagnostic Interview for Social and Communication Disorders 'DISCO').
