Hazel is an Occupational Therapist who has extensive experience in numerous settings as a clinician and a Moving and Handling Advisor. She is currently working on a part time basis as Team Lead on a rehabilitation ward in Wales assessing and treating clients in hospital and their home environment offering comprehensive, specialist assessments and rehabilitation.
In addition to her part time clinical role she is the Moving and Handling Advisor for therapy services within the Trust and works as an independent Moving and Handling Advisor.

Hazel works in a variety of settings offering assessments/ reports and recommendations on Moving and Handling. She provides bespoke training for companies/ carers/families in their own homes or training rooms. Hazel liaises closely with Case Managers and their clients, corporate organisations and professionals regarding the complex issues of moving and handling. Given her background as an Occupational Therapist her focus is on maintaining and encouraging independence whenever possible and in reducing the risks with the client their families and care providers.

Hazel currently works in this role on a part time basis. She is the team lead on a busy rehabilitation ward assessing and treating patients in hospital and their own homes carrying out comprehensive assessments and rehabilitation.
In addition to her role as a clinician she has responsibilities within the OT department and NHS Trust in relation to Moving and Handling/ Risk Management and Health and Safety to ensure safe practise and the supervision of staff.

Hazel worked and lived overseas for 15 years in South America and Asia working as an OT and raising a young family
On qualifying as an Occupational Therapist Hazel worked at Guy’s Hospital on a physical rotational post covering a variety of clinical specialities.
