Highly Specialist SLT – Young Epilepsy
Karen provides communication assessment and support for children and young adults with a range of learning disabilities and communication needs, including Augmentative and Alternative Communication. She currently manages a caseload of school and college students, however she has also worked within the multidisciplinary rehabilitation team for children following hemispherectomy. Karen provides supervision and leads on service development.

Highly Specialist SLT – Orchard Hill College
Karen provided assessment, direct and indirect intervention for young adults with a range of communication difficulties. She was also responsible for service development and supervision within the SLT team.

Specialist SLT – Croydon Primary Care Trust
Part time Specialist SLT for Physical Disability in Croydon based at a special school, with outreach to children across the borough, and support to their Speech and Language Therapists. This role included assessment and implementation of Augmentative and Alternative Communication and working to develop the communication skills of children with a range of learning disabilities. Karen also worked with pre-school children with special needs within their homes and nurseries to develop their early communication skills.

Specialist SLT – Haringey NHS Trust
Working within resource bases on mainstream schools for children with physical disabilities, Karen provided assessment and therapy for children with a range of communication needs including assessment and implementation of Augmentative and Alternative Communication.
