Jenny Fearn - BSc (HONS) Occupational Therapy

Jenny graduated with a degree in Occupational Therapy at the University of Southampton, in 2003.

Jenny provides Case management and Occupational Therapy for children, young people, adults, and older people with varying diagnosis including, learning difficulties and autism, amputation, dementia, neurological conditions and head injury.


  • Extensive experience in in home adaptations, equipment provision, functional assessment and rehabilitation
  • Experience of working in the acute hospital and community multidisciplinary teams, for the local authority as well as in the Private sector
  • Experience of working in a range of community settings including, within client’s homes, their work place, schools, and clinics
  • Expertise in problem solving
  • Experience in helping families, carers and education staff to implement therapy programmes for children in a variety of settings

Key Skills

Having worked with clients who have a wide range of complex physical, sensory and learning needs Jenny is able to assess need and offer solutions for day to day issues. Jenny listens closely to the needs of her clients and their families and strives to achieve their goals using evidence based practice and sound theoretical knowledge.

2011 - Present Case Manager/Occupational Therapist for Independent Living Solutions.

2011 – 2012 Specialist Children’s Occupational Therapist for the Children’s Integrated Therapy Service, East Sussex, providing assessment, rehabilitation, equipment, and housing adaptations reports for children aged 0-19 years who have profound physical and or learning difficulties. Predominantly working with the child’s school and home.

2009 - Current Occupational Therapist for Home Independence Services, providing specialist advice on housing adaptations for children, young people and adults, through private or local authority (DFG) provision.

2006 - 2011 Occupational Therapist for the Epsom Integrated Rehabilitation Service, providing assessment and rehabilitation for adults and older people within the community, as part of a health and social care multidisciplinary team. Roles included equipment provision, mobility assessment, complex moving and handling assessment and carer advice.

2005 - 2006 NHS Paediatric Occupational Therapist providing assessment and treatment for children with a range of disabilities including, learning difficulties, autism, developmental coordination disorder, head injury, spinal cord injury, cerebral palsy; working in schools, the acute hospital, clinics, and the children’s homes.

2003 - 2005 NHS Occupational Therapist at Epsom Hospital (Surrey) working on a range of adult inpatient wards, including stroke/neurological conditions, medical, orthopaedic/trauma and surgical wards. Experience in treatment of both upper and lower limb injury, and complex regional pain syndrome.
