Profile

Krystyna is a physiotherapist with over 25 years experience of working in the NHS. Krystyna has specialised in working in neurorehabilitation  and particularly with children and young people with neurological conditions, where she has gained many years experience as a highly specialist physiotherapist. During this time Krystyna has developed extensive knowledge about the needs of children with disabilities and their families, alongside an understanding of the statutory and educational services they can access. Krystyna is committed to developing strong working relationships with the  families she works with, ensuring that the child’s needs are at the centre of everything she does and they are able to achieve their full potential.

Band 7 Paediatric Physiotherapist and Neuromuscular Pathway Lead – Hampshire and Isle of Wight Trust

  • Providing physiotherapy assessment and treatment to a caseload of children across North Hampshire from 0-19 years with complex neurological, neuromuscular or developmental needs. Including writing and appraising EHCP reports from all therapists.
  • Working as part of a multidisciplinary team involving parents and children, therapists, healthcare staff, education staff and social care staff in the care and therapy support of the children on my caseload.
  • Recruit and induct new members of therapy staff to the North Hampshire Children’s therapy service.

August 2016 to August 2022

Band 8a Therapy Manager and Paediatric Physiotherapist – East Kent University Hospital Foundation Trust

  • Physiotherapy assessment and provision to a caseload of children from 0-19 with complex, neurological, neuromuscular and developmental needs, including working with the wider MDT team, education, parents and social care staff.
  • Day to day operational management of the Dover and Deal community therapy service.
  • Line management of the whole team including, sickness and leave management, rostering, appraisals and performance management as appropriate.
  • Recruitment of new therapists, including advertising, shortlisting and interviewing of new therapists and assistants across all therapies and then inducting into their new roles. Staffing budget awareness
  • Safeguarding supervision of all staff in the locality.
