I have been a qualified children’s nurse for 12 years and I have a passion for providing high quality holistic care and support to children, young people and their families.

I have experience of working in clinical settings as well as in the community, working in partnership with children/young people, their families and the wider multi-disciplinary team.

Key responsibilities included initial assessments, health promotion, leading clinics, liaising and working with multi-disciplinary teams and completing referrals for onward services.

September 2010 – December 2020 Children’s palliative care nurse/team leader, East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices

Providing short break care and end of life care to children/young people and their families with complex disabilities/health needs. Managed a team of staff ranging from band 7-band 3.  Provided clinical supervision, appraisals and probation supervision. Completed annual reviews for the families on my caseload and present these to panel. Participated in family events and support groups.  Attended internal and external meetings including annual reviews, safeguarding and discharge planning meetings.  Attended family feedback sessions as a representation from the care team.
