Rachel is an Occupational Therapist of over 13 years who is highly experienced in the field of neurological rehabilitation. She has worked extensively with individuals presenting with a wide range of complex needs, bringing a deep understanding of post‑injury recovery and the factors that influence long‑term outcomes.

Highly skilled in functional assessment, Rachel excels at identifying client needs following injury and developing tailored, evidence‑based recommendations to support the best possible recovery.

Rachel also brings significant leadership experience, enabling her to effectively coordinate multidisciplinary teams and oversee care teams with confidence and clarity. She has considerable knowledge of statutory service provision, including Continuing Healthcare (CHC) processes, and is adept at navigating complex systems on behalf of her clients.

Position was split into 2 roles:

• Setting up a new inpatient stroke rehabilitation service at Herts and Essex Hospital.
• Providing intensive rehabilitation in patients’ homes for 6 weeks post stroke.

Responsibilities included:

• Service appraisal.
• Training/educating healthcare professionals.
• Comprehensive neurological assessment.
• GAS goal setting.
• Implementation of goal orientated treatment plans.
• Supervision of rehabilitation assistants.
• Attending/delivering in-service training.

April 2014- April 2016

Occupational Therapist (Band 5 Rotational) – The Lister Hospital/Stevenage

6 month rotations across orthopaedics, surgical, respiratory and stroke. Responsibilities included;

• Prompt and thorough assessment.
• Implementing individual treatment plans for patients with a wide range of diagnosis such as amputees, fractured hips and stroke.
• Efficient sign-posting to community services.
• Provision of equipment/home adaptation.
• Completing home/access visits.
